NOTE:
Dear
MATCOD attendees, this year we decided to forgo our annual
weekend retreat, due to several issues that we felt needed
to be addressed…
First: We wanted to regroup, we needed to look again at the
MATCOD mission and vision statements, to make sure everyone
involved knew what we’re about, what we’re doing, and how
we plan on getting there.
Secondly, we wanted to get more churches involved in the
planning. As you know a retreat this size just doesn’t
happen, we are praying that the Lord will send dedicated
brothers who are willing to commit the time and energy
necessary to make sure this happens.
Third, we wanted to look at cost, for the last several
years Christian Fellowship Church has been saddled with
enormous costs to cover retreat shortages. Although they
have not complained, it is still not fair. So we will be
looking at new pricing strategies to make sure that no one
fellowship gets overburdened.
Having said that we still felt led to have this one day
retreat that we hope in the MATCOD tradition will
challenge, and edify the participants. We know that MATCOD
has been a blessing to many men around the Metro Detroit
Area, and we’re asking that you pray that the LORD will
continue to keep it so.
